Fort Lauderdale Personal Injury Lawyer

Motor vehicle accidents carry detrimental physical and financial consequences. Injuries can leave you in pain, disabled and unemployed. Even worse, your insurance company is probably more interested in its bottom line than your full recovery. At John Contini in Fort Lauderdale, FL, our main priority is representing victims who have been injured in car accidents. Our experienced Ft. Lauderdale personal injury lawyers help accident victims obtain compensation that will aid their recovery and help them move on with their lives.

Auto Insurance Companies
Our thorough knowledge of and experience with auto insurance companies allows us to maximize the available recovery for each client. Other insurance coverage, including automobile policies on other vehicles, underinsured/uninsured motor vehicle protection, medical payment coverage, and personal injury protection (PIP) benefits may also be available to an injured person.

Know Your Rights
You will need aggressive and expert legal representation following your motor vehicle accident. That is what our Fort Lauderdale personal injury attorneys offer at John P. Contini & Associates, P.A. Because car accidents can be much more complicated than first thought, the injured party (or the party not at fault) has certain rights that they are often not aware of, including, the right to be fully reimbursed for damages, including:

Stacked insurance policy claims
Rental car expense or reimbursement;
Medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering in the past and future.

Car Accident Statistics
Every 10 seconds, someone in the USA is involved in a motor vehicle accident, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Negligence
Car accident legal cases are typically governed by the law of negligence. Legally, someone operating an automobile must exercise "reasonable care under the circumstances." Failing to use reasonable care is considered negligence and a person who negligently operates a vehicle may be required to pay for any damages, to person or property, caused by his /her negligence.

Talk to Our Fort Lauderdale Criminal Attorney First
Do not discuss the facts of your case or sign any documents until you contact one of our Ft Lauderdale DUI Attorneys. The injured party (the plaintiff) is required to prove that negligence caused the accident and the plaintiff's injuries. After a motor vehicle accident, it is common for an auto insurance company to put their financial interests in front of yours and try to get a quick, cheap settlement, or deny the claim altogether. Do not let auto insurance companies do this to you.

What do you do if you're in an accident?

Answer: Blame the other guy no matter what, since that's what everyone else is doing.

The better answer: Call 911 and get emergency medical help immediately, assuming you're physically able. You may be in shock and in trauma, and your injuries may not fully manifest themselves or be apparent to you for some time - or until after the shock and trauma wears off ; so again, 'better to be safe than sorry," and allow the paramedics to observe and treat you! Call your parents from your cell phone as soon as possible after the accident, and give them your location.

Be aware of the witnesses to the accident and attempt to prevail upon the witnesses to provide you with their names and contact information. Do NOT leave the scene under any circumstances before the police and paramedics arrive, lest you be arrested for the crime of "leaving the scene of an accident." It will be a felony charge of "leaving the scene of an accident with injuries," if someone is injured in the accident.
