The air conditioning and plumbing in my apartment doesn't work well and is almost always broken, and my landlord refuses to fix it. I can't afford to move and pay for moving expenses, and first, last and security deposit, so what are my rights?

Answer: You can "withhold rent" (stay there and still hang onto your money!) if your "tenancy" (your rented place) is "uninhabitable," or in other words, if you are being "denied the quiet use and enjoyment thereof" - fancy legal words for, "you're not even getting the very basics for what you're paying, and yet the dirt bag landlord won't fix the problem!"
